"Chai N Chaat 2011" will be a day-long community-based cultural event and fundraiser that both will help raise awareness of Austin's diverse ethnic populations as well as help to raise funds for local Austin nonprofits:

All non-perishable food donations will benefit the Eastside Community Connection.
Scheduled for June 25, 2011 at the Community Renaissance Market located at 6800 Westgate Boulevard in South Austin, this event will:
• be the first of its kind in helping to bridge the cultural divide, where all event visitors are encouraged to mix, share, and learn with one another
• showcase the diversity of Indian cultures with food, performances, fashion, music, and art
• be family-oriented and comprised of two fashion shows, as well as a line-up of several local artists
• feature local non-profits and businesses contributing to the Austin-Indian diaspora
• provide a great opportunity for individuals to become more involved in Austin’s diverse community
• enable organizations and performers to gain more exposure and develop contacts across Austin.
The event is being coordinated by We Flap, an Austin based 501(c)(3) designated social non-profit enterprise that is aimed at creating a vibrant community that enables individuals to engage with and assist various non-governmental organizations around the world.
