When & Where: The party will last from 6 to 9pm on Saturday April 16th. It will be held at the W Atlanta – Downtown Hotel on the rooftop pool deck and Wetbar area which is located at 45 Ivan Allen Jr Blvd. There are several parking options at and near the hotel: valet service, self park lot, or street parking around the hotel. The event has no cover and the only requirement for entry is that you check-in the “2011 Atlanta Foursquare Day Party” venue when you arrive (link to be published right before the start of the event). This is a benefit event and all guests are encouraged to donate to the Atlanta Humane Society and bring items for the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Please see the "Non-Profit Component" section below for more details.
Food & Drink: The mixologists from the Drinkshop at W Atlanta have crafted a custom “Foursquare Cocktail” and all party attendees will receive one of these unique drinks compliments of the Drinkshop upon check-in. The W hotel will be providing complimentary light snacks that will include Ahi Tuna with Citrus Soy, Cheese Wellingtons, Smoked Salmon on Air Dried Toast & Braised Pork Belly Tartlets. There will be a cash bar that will feature a full line-up of libations as well as a few specials: $4 Sweetwater 420, $6 Red & White wine options, and the “Foursquare Cocktail” for $5.
Giveaways: The first 100 people to check-in will receive a free 2011 Atlanta Foursquare Day t-shirt! All party attendees will receive a 2011 4sqDay badge button as well as a drink coozie and sticker both featuring the 2011 Atlanta Foursquare Day logo while supplies last.
Non-Profit Component: Both the Atlanta Humane Society and the Atlanta Community Food Bank will be at the event and are participating in two different ways. All party guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to the event to donate to the ACFB. Bins will be readily available as you enter for easy drop off. The Atlanta Humane Society piece is a little bit different and will be incorporating Foursquare check-ins! We would like for all attendees to make a monetary pledge per check-in to the Foursquare event venue (check-in total will be capped at 250). For example, if you pledge to donate 10 cents per check-in, your final donation would be a maximum of $25. The form to submit your pledge is located on the AHS Events page and you can still make a pledge even if you will not be attending to help support the cause! Atlanta Humane will email everyone who made a pledge after the event with the final check-in numbers and their total pledge amount along with how to send in your donation.
Fun Stuff: Music for the event will be provided by To the Rescue Entertainment. Every event where they are booked sponsors a rescue dog so this party will be contributing to that cause as well! Atlanta City Councilman Kwanza Hall will be at the party and will present the proclaimation from the City of Atlanta declaring 4/16/2011 as Foursquare Day here in Atlanta. We will also have an extremely large digital screen running foursquare check-in apps and bringing hashtags, photos, texts & tweets real-time to the display. The interactive TV setup is being provided by Kyle Porter.
Post-Party & Extras: The Atlanta Foursquare Day event shuts down at 9pm, but that doesn’t mean the party has to stop! Starting at 9pm, all party attendees will be eligible for 30% off their tab in the Drinkshop where the mixologists will be crafting up cocktails along with more DJ based entertainment until close. Party attendees who dine next door at BLT Steak will receive a free dessert with their reservation. While you are at the W, stop in Bliss Spa and receive $50 off a blissage75, blissage105 or Triple Oxygen Facial when booked on the 16th (have until Aug 31 to use it). Don’t worry about driving if you’ve had a little too much fun at the party and at Drinkshop because the W Atlanta is offering complimentary room upgrades for that night when you show your check-in at the front desk!
