Mamá Art Cafe is pleased to present I Live Here:SF, a photography/portraiture project that the artist, Julie Michelle, began in 2009. The exhibition at Mamá Art Cafe will feature portraits of residents of the neighboring areas of the Excelsior, Bernal Heights, and the Mission.

From the project's website: "I Live Here:SF is an open invitation to San Francisco residents to enjoy and participate in sharing many facets of life in this city with each other and the world at large. It is an exploration of the city through the visages and stories of the people who participate in the project. Living here in San Francisco, and a communal attachment to the city, is the common thread for the work that Julie Michelle is doing."

The crisp, colorful images of the subjects often set against the backgrounds of a local mural or skyline reflect the vibrancy of our city by the Bay. You can read the story of each participant at iliveheresf.
