After a refresher in core theory and methods in interaction design, participants will be taken through a series of case studies and accompanying exercises. We will focus on issues in mobile design related to what makes a gesture work or fail from the perspective of both movement activity and system feedback mechamisms as well as what pitfalls you need to look out for.
David Malouf is currently a professor of Interaction Design in the Industrial Design department of the Savannah College of Art and Design. Before becoming a professor David was a practicing interaction designer for the previous 17 years. Most of his time in practice had been dedicated to designing enterprise software services. Mr. Malouf writes, speaks and teaches for both corporations and not-for-proÞts around the world and is one of the founders of the Interaction Design Association (IxDA): a global community of practice representing close to 30,000 designers.
