This intimate Women 2.0 event brings investors and entrepreneurs together to help you learn everything you ever wanted to know about getting funding and launching a high-growth venture. Space is limited. Cost of the event for selected attendees is $50 a person.
Investor Bios:
Ann Miura-Ko
Ann is a partner at FLOODGATE where her investment interests include e-commerce, security, and big data. Ann is finishing up a Ph.D. in the Management Science and Engineering Department at Stanford University, where her research focused on mathematical modeling of computer security. She teaches High Tech Entrepreneurship at Stanford and is a frequent lecturer in courses such as Technology Venture Formation, High-tech Entrepreneurship, and the Mayfield Fellows Program. Ann holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Yale.
Jenny Fielding
Jenny has a background in law and banking and went on to found Switch-Mobile, a leading VoIP mobile software company in 2005 (acquired by Via One Corporation in 2007). Since the sale of Switch-Mobile, Jenny advises venture capitalists firms, investment banks and private investors on global investment opportunities within mobile, digital media, gaming and software technology. In addition, she provides advisory services to early stage emerging growth technology companies, focusing on business development, strategic partnerships and strategy.
Marya Stark
Marya is the Board Chair and a Founder of Emerge America, the premier national training program for women Democrats. She is a Principal at Allegory, a corporate leadership and communications training company. She is also an angel investor, with a focus on the consumer internet, particularly opportunities that exploit women’s dominant consumption and social patterns. Marya writes for news media sites such as the Huffington Post, Alternet and Blogher and is a resource on leadership and politics.
Xochi Birch
Xochi co-founded the social networking site Bebo in January 2005 with her husband Michael Birch. In 2008 the site was sold to AOL for $850m. Previously Xochi had co-founded BirthdayAlarm.com and Ringo.com, which the latter was sold to Tickle.com in 2003. She is currently the co-founder of Monkey Inferno, a personal incubator in San Francisco, with Michael. The incubator is launching multiple new innovative Internet businesses, starting with BirthdayAlarm.com and a newer version of the same called Zuno.com, along with Jolitics.com; a website aimed at encouraging open constructive yet entertaining debate in politics.
