Enter the vibrant and visually empathetic world of CHARACTERS, an exhibition that brings together a wide variety of human depictions, spanning people from all walks of life across the border of real and abstract.
In an ongoing effort to capture the faces of humanity, Roll Up Gallery has assembled three Bay Area artists who have put together an innovative and exciting show. The collection of portraits explore the incongruous human landscape and introduce viewers to the shared complexities that bring us together.

Robert Syrett
Located inside of Robert Syrett's head, just behind and a little up from his eyeballs is a unique organ of thought.
It is a permeable matrix of character parts which are constantly rearranging and recombining spawning a near infinite variety of new characters. Images unfold, assert themselves onto paper as illustrations and evaporate back into infinity. Presented here for the first time in person are some of these whimsical and unique people from Syrett's imagination.

Danielle DeRoberts
Danielle DeRoberts is a painter and fashion designer (Onerary), originally from New York, now based in San Francisco, CA.
This series is conceptually focused on the idea of staying true to one's own path in life, and having confidence in the process of personal growth.
Danielle creates fabric paintings of various sizes, each one delicately sewn into, and together, combining sewing with painting. These pieces are mainly portraits of people who are inspirational to the artist. However, in essence, the paintings are also considered by the artist to be self-portraits, as she sees herself as a reflection of every person in her life.

Duser
Visual art has been a long standing passion for Duser. His distinct style is heavily influenced and rooted in street art, illustration and graphic design. While active in the graffiti world he attended Whittier College on an art scholarship, followed by a MA program at NYU and a Post Baccalaureate program at SFAI. Upon completion at SFAI, Duser realized the true beauty of San Francisco. He set up a home base and studio where he continues to work. He has exhibited work in many major cities through out the US. From outdoor murals to cafe's, restaurants, nightclubs, galleries and the odd museum appearance.

»Bagatelle I« is the first of six music videos produced by schnellebuntebilder for the saxophone quartet sonic.art.
As unusual the production of a music video of a saxophone combo is, as experimental is the combination of digital and analogue tools.
The astonishing and impulsive moments of György Ligetis' composition was visualized by audio reactive and generatively created graphics and accomplished by hand-drawn animations.
