This startling, creative session will run from 7.45 for 8.00am until 9.30am at Deloitte offices, Melbourne.Games are one of the oldest past times known to humanity. Over the centuries games have been used to teach problem solving and survival skills, socialize community members and of course, to entertain and have fun!Recent developments in gaming technology and interactive media are converging to create new forms of learning, strategising and entertainment. Research shows that the average young adult will have accrued 10,000 hours of game play by the time they reach 21 - the same amount of hours they would have accrued in school. We have among us a generation of gamers that have been learning important lessons and skills that will help carry our communities across the most challenging issues of our time. These skills are communication, teamwork, community building, leadership, strategy, wealth creation and engagement. In this session we will explore how game dynamics can inform the redesign of business, education and community development to enable greater engagement, collaboration and participation.
