It's that magical time again: spring is here, and right around the corner is the 137th running of the Kentucky Derby. And this might just be the best one yet.
Maybe you've attended in the past -- maybe you haven't had the pleasure.
For those in the column 'B' -- as a native to the Commonwealth, it's my personal mission to introduce folks to the spirit of this jubilant occasion. We go crazy for this here horse race back home; Louisville hosts a 2-week long city-wide party, just to make sure we all give the Derby her proper welcome.
And we'll be celebrating with the rest of Louisville on Saturday afternoon. Show up early to get into the swing of things.
Expect to see classic Kentucky recipes: Kentucky Burgoo, Derby Pie, and Hot Browns. Mint juleps and a fine selection of Kentucky bourbon whiskey. Games & Derby activities including the world famous 'Triple Crown.' I've made special arrangements to let us wager on the ponies from Seattle. Plus, we'll have a live feed covering the action at Churchill Downs, all leading up to the Greatest Two Minutes in Sports!
