Failed writer and ancient Greek Hepatitis and his side-kick actor Diabetes are struggling to find the ending to their play. With only five minutes to go before the opening of the Athenian Drama Festival, they employ the help of a 21st century philosophy student. And so Woody Allen’s play becomes increasingly anarchic as elements of absurdist plays Six Characters in Search of an Author and Waiting for Godot interweave with Allen’s inimitable humour. The plot veers from ancient to modern and back again, almost spiraling out of control, encountering icons of the U.S. film world and even Allen himself in Hepatitis and Diabetes’ attempts to make sense of their play within a play, in their world within a world. Hepatitis, un escriptor fracassat de la antiga Grècia, i el seu company, l’actor Diabetis, tenen dificultats per trobar un final per la seva obra de teatre. Quan només queden cinc minuts fins que comenci el Festival de Teatre d'Atenes, demanen ajuda a un estudiant de filosofia del segle XXI. I així, la obra de Woody Allen es torna cada cop més anàrquica quan elements d' obres absurdes com ara Sis personatges a la recerca d'autor i Tot esperant Godot s'entrellacen amb l’humor inimitable d'Allen. En un intent per donar sentit a la seva obra dins d’una obra – al seu món dins d'un món – el Diabetis i l'Hepatitis aniran passant del mon antic al mon modern i es trobaran amb icones cinematogràfics dels Estats Units i fins i tot amb el propi Allen.
