At IF Talks, the spirit of innovation and inspiration runs deep. A discussion on change, a simple idea brought to life, an opinion on the future or a real life tale can move us, shift our thinking and enrich our knowledge and awaken us to make great things happen. Over the past 2 years, we have engaged in deep conversations about our natural environment, pure living, innovation, youth, the future of technology and business. The stories behind the IF speakers are profound, moving, inspiring and true. IF speakers are inspiring people behind the businesses that help shape our cities, communities and nation. At IF Sydney this April, we will be discussing the diverse theme of: MAKING IDEAS HAPPEN. No one is born with the skill of execution. It is learned, a critical skill that needs to be developed, be it through organisational habits, embracing the power of people and community or re-educating ourselves to adapt a strict discipline to bring ideas to life. A shift from inspiration to action. The truth is that whilst we all have good ideas, not many of them actually happen. IF have curated a panel of experts that make ideas happen everyday. Our panel welcomes Rachel Botsman as she discusses collaboration and the global movement that was named by TIME as one of the "10 Ideas That Will Change The World". Ash Donaldson will engage you on the path of Human Centred Design whilst Seb Chan will disccuss the importance of ideas and play. Ian Lyons will make you re-think conventional marketing and communication and Tim Longhurst will give you a vision of the future you may not have considered. The IF Talk, (brought you by uncluttered white spaces) is hosted Ben Rennie, director of innovation consultancy 6.2 and founder of the popluar blog uncluttered white spaces. Simply put, the world is full of solutions and we are surrounded with aspirational ideas and ingenious breakthroughs all the time. How many of these ideas really happen? Are things really changing? IF asks the panel how do we shift ideas from inspiration into businesses, brands, products or organisations. What are the key ingredients to making ideas happen? IAN LYONS @ianlyons Ian holds some unconventional views on marketing - primarily that we should constantly strive to eliminate the meaningless variety - as defined by the customer. Imagine if we really took the time to know our customers, their needs and wants - and set about helping them make well informed decisions rather than broadcasting what we have to sell. Luckily technology and now social platforms are starting to help us get better at crafting a truly useful customer experience that positions marketing as a business driver rather than a cost centre. Ian applies these philosophies with clients such as Sydney Festival, P&O Cruises, Shangri-La Hotels, South African Tourism and National Disability Services. BEN RENNIE @benrennie Ben Rennie thinks deeply about making ideas happen, productivity, collaboration and the nature of modern working environments. Ben is the founder of 6.2, an innovation lab with clients in Australia, the USA & Hong Kong. 6.2 bring ideas to life by solving complex problems across varying markets.
