A Practical Introduction to Javascript // TECH 463 Justin Michaliga, Interactive Designer and Developer Monday, April 11th from 8:00 pm to 9:30 pm. Classes meet every Monday at 8:00 pm for 4 more weeks. Price: $110 for the remaining 4-week course, or $40 for this session only. In this course, students will learn the fundamental Javascript tools that allow developers to make basic HTML content more engaging and interactive. The class will use examples of already packaged Javascript libraries that have been proven examples of industry standards. The class will teach stduents to use these techniques as well as the fundamentals to create these examples using straight Javascript. An understanding of basic HTML and CSS is required. The five-week course will cover the following topics: What Javascript can and cannot do The fundamentals of the Javascript language The differences between Javascript and Javascript libraries Examples of initiating jQuery plugins Re-creating jQuery with straight Javascript Advanced implementations of the jQuery plugin created by adding layers of fundamental Javascript .
