As you may or may not be aware, Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens is about to be irrevocably defiled. As we speak, construction crews are demolishing the once-glorious main grandstand, to replace it with 4500 slot machines:

Although this part of the track was technically off-limits anyway, there is a significant risk that next season the current racing facilities will be upgraded and no longer be a pit of despair. The derelict charm will be vanquished in favor of bourgeois delights!
April is the last month of Aqueduct's winter season, after which the track will close for summer renovations immediately after the last race.
So let us gather one last time to enjoy the peeling paint and scruffy patrons, as we bet on horses with funny names running for their lives.
Also, it's Gabe's birthday, and he usually wins a lot of money and that's fun to watch.
Here's the deal: It is free to get in to the horse track. The minimum bet is $1. No need to understand what's going on, just pick the horse with the weirdest name - worst case scenario is you're down a dollar.
-- DIRECTIONS --
Aqueduct racetrack is conveniently located right on the A train. Make sure you take a Far Rockaway-bound A Train and get off at "Aqueduct North Conduit". Aqueduct is the big thing that looks like a race track. Coming from Manhattan or Williamsburg, take the L to Broadway Junction for the A.
I'll be there by 1:30pm. When you arrive, call me: 917.601.4344
We will almost definitely gather on the second floor in the Clubhouse boxes.
