On Tuesday April 19, Mitch will talk about What Is A Resume For? Mitch will help us appreciate what happens to that piece of paper once we submit it, and how effective it may or may not be in finding work.
This is not a presentation to help you to craft a resume, but rather to gain understanding of your resume's purpose in the entire process of job search. His aim is to help you go beyond finding job openings and applying for them. He want to help you get paying work. This presentation will expand your options beyond the typical job web sites to a empower you get the job you want and deserve.
Mitch Krayton is a noted author, top-rated speaker and technology leader. He is the founder of two technology companies, a consulting and coaching practice and currently tours the country empowering businesses to communicate and lead more effectively. He is a Distinguished Toastmaster and serves as President of his Toastmasters club as well as the Chair of the Toastmasters District 52 Speakers Bureau. Mitch has earned the Golden Microphone Award from the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the National Speakers Association, and he has been well-received speaking to business leaders at Adobe, Apple, Boeing, IBM, Home Federal Savings, Hughes, Nestle and the Printing Industries Association to name a few.
Mitch has taught sales and communications courses at CSUN, Woodbury University and Platt College; and was the 2007 Volunteer of the Year for Jr. Achievement, who recognized his efforts teaching high school kids about team building, ethics and business skills. For years he has worked in his community on career projects for youth, including Discovering Careers,Connecting 2 Success and Marketing YOU for Success, which are sponsored annually by the Hart Union School District and other business groups in the Santa Clarita Valley.
He recently gave this presentation at CareerCampLA-2 in March.
