Highlife is 1!
Over the past year, we've repeatedly explored new musical genres and cultures from around the globe including a UK debut for Mexican Rebolledo (Comeme), Mim Suleiman from Tanzania, UK Funky from T. Williams, jackin' house from Capracara (DFA / Soul Jazz), showcasing exclusive live afro-futurism from local boy Bamboo Palace (LuckyMe) and South African house from Esa (Sub Club).
Now, to celebrate our first birthday, we're proud to present SHACKLETON for an extremely rare live performance. One of the biggest names in electronic music, Shackleton is currently on the top of his game. The last couple of years has seen him releasing one of the best received Fabric mixes of recent times and starting his own label Woe to the Septic Heart from the ashes of the Skull Disco label where he made his name.
Shackleton’s peerless live sets consists of complex, tribal rhythms and hypnotic basslines: a sound that fits perfectly at Highlife. Recently restricting himself to playing the biggest festivals such as Bloc, Sonar, Unsound etc, this intimate early show is one not to miss!
