Springfest 2011 is coming -- Saturday, April 30, 2011, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, in the Ohia Building cafeteria and auditorium on the campus of Kapiolani Community College. It is a day of Macintosh/Apple users informative breakout seminars, swap meet ,door prizes, and annual membership meeting. A new iPad 2 will be the prize to members only attending and present at 2:30 pm. This year's special guest will be Tom Merritt, host of "Tech News Today", a daily live show on the TWIT Network, Mr Merritt will engage in a conversation about our rapidly changing tech-scape with Burt Lum and Ryan Ozawa, hosts of KIPO radio's "Bytemarks Cafe", plus Brian Dote, local iApp developer. You want some clues about how to negotiate the *post PC world*? Don't miss this opportunity.

In other sessions -- Michael Harada, iPad artist and art instructor at Leeward Community College, will demonstrate the graphic art potential of the iPad; Neenz Faleafine, Governor Abercrombie's Social Media Coordinator, will de-code The Media for us; Ross Rasmussen, Apple Macintosh expert and Windward School for Adults' Teacher of the year, will reveal some of the hidden features of the Mac operating system; Terry Takaki, Professional Photographers of Hawaii, will help us improve our photographs; PPH will conduct their popular photo equipment swapmeet; and more.

And finally, to top off the day, at 2:30 PM, following the public activities, HMAUS will hold its Annual Members' Meeting. The main item of business will be introduction of the newly elected Board of Directors. But if that is not exciting enough, all HMAUS members attending the meeting will be eligible to win an iPad 2! Make sure your membership is up to date and be at the meeting...You could go home a winner!
