Well we've done it everyone. Starting in November the government and Perth Transport Association have agreed to trial a FREE 4am train service on every single line on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The free train at 2am will still stand so although we didn't get an hourly train, we feel that this was a fair compromise.
So if we want to keep this service, we have to use it. Remember this is only a trial, whatever happens after depends on what kind of numbers the 4am service gets. Yes, this means go out Friday and Saturday night. Go out, have a good night, and catch the bloody train home. That's all you have to do. When we have an exact date for when the 4am service begins we will be organizing an event in Northbridge to celebrate it so watch this space. The media is bound to be there on the opening night so we want Perth station packed.
The government has given what a majority of you wanted, so lets use it and we'll see you in November.
And a quick note on taxis. We will be liaising with the taxi council about this but if you need to catch a taxi from your destination station then call and order a taxi while your on the train home. Before long taxi drivers will realize that particular train stations are hot spots because of the 4am service. Drivers will go where there are people. Again we'll be talking to the taxi council about this.
Cheers everyone
