In order to draw attention to his chamber ballets, the twenty-something choreographer Avichai Scher follows a canny formula: he invites stars from major companies and presents them on smaller stages, at significantly lower prices. This time, the high-profile guests include two ballerinas we’ve missed from the New York dance scene: Sofiane Sylve, now with San Francisco Ballet, and Carla Körbes, a member of Pacific Northwest Ballet. They’re joined by a pair of local favorites, Tyler Angle and Craig Salstein, in two premières. “Mirrors,” set to live violin and piano, exploits the built-in self-consciousness of the dance studio, while “Dreamscapes” spins out such stuff as Romantic ballets are made of.
