COME CELEBRATE WITH US. OPENING PARTY FRIDAY MAY 6TH with music provided by Phantom Signal's Josh McGuirk and Nick Fox.
The Hermann & Audrey EXHIBIT presents its 2nd Annual Exhibition featuring original works by some of Toronto’s innovative art talent as part of the CONTACT Photography Festival 2011.
From May 6-22, our family of photographers will partner with some of the city’s truest talent in arts and media to present a collection of work that explores the beauty of time and space, person in place and how technology has the power to manipulate one’s understanding.
Merging photography, illustration, large format printing, video and motion activated technology, the 5 collections explore the context in which we see a subject and explore the festival theme: Marshall McLuhan’s technological take on the Gestalt theory of Figure and Ground.
Spectators are intended to engage with the art to find a personal experience with the work. Artists include: Steve Carty, Javier Lovera, Jalani Morgan, Cory Vanderploeg, Simon Rojas, Scott McIntyre, Shingo Shimizu, Che Kothari, Elicser and Skam.
Hermann & Audrey’s 2011 exhibit will be mounted in the beautifully re-imagined 5000sq ft space at 99 Sudbury, a new cultural fixture in Toronto’s West Queen West. 99 has graciously come aboard as hosts for this year’s exhibit, showcasing its genuine support for local artists as it opens its doors to the city’s arts & culture community for the first time.
