Technosapien is a exhibit of projects from the 2010-2011 OCAD U Wearable Technology courses. These projects explore how wearable forms of technology can act as interfaces that connect the human body and the complex world that surrounds us.
Areas of investigation include fashion, jewelry, wearable forms that enhance athletic performance, products that enhance the quality of daily living, and performance art. Although a diverse range of projects, they thematically intersect through the desire to help humans arrive at a point of greater satisfaction or communicate unrealized desires of the body and mind. Using sensory responses, smart textiles, microcontroller circuitry, and programmed interactions, these projects elicit emotionally rich experiences that engage with inherent human behavior.
