In Harrar and Gondar, the shows will be TOTALLY FREE TO THE PUBLIC. Addis Ababa’s show will have only a minimal entrance fee. Gondar's performance we be at the site of the landmark Fasilides Castle, built in the mid 1600s by Emperor Fasilides. That’s some serious history!!!!
The Arba Minch Collective will also be there, and we’ll be giving free workshops, and continuing to build our growing relationships with the cultural powerhouses of the country. I’ll even be taking photos for National Geographic World Music’s website! The whole thing is an incredible opportunity to connect with the Ethiopian people, to learn, grow, and to have the band deepen their relationship to my music and the influences at work in it. I am so grateful. We’re not getting paid a thing to play, so we’re making it happen grassroots style!
Consider donating $10, $20, $50, $100, or whatever amount inspires you towards the trip. The main expense is plane tickets. And just so you know, Indie-a-gogo is similar to kickstarter, but because of my Fractured Atlas fiscal sponsorship, donations through Indie-a-gogo are tax deductible. Yessssss!
Please spread the word and share the campaign on facebook…. Pass it on!
