Another year, another birthday. Every 7 years I get to celebrate my birthday on lucky Friday the 13th. Help me celebrate (and forget how old I'm getting) by raising money for a charity I really care about:
Harvesters is a ministry in Sudan that cares orphans which includes medical care. In order to continue and expand their work, Harvesters is building Juwa al Emin – His House of Hope, a health care center that will serve the needs of pregnant Sudanese women and children up to 18 years of age. Their chief medical goals are to reduce morbidity and mortality from preventable and treatable disease, and to improve pregnancy outcomes by providing antenatal, perinatal and postnatal care. They have a doctor from Colorado who is moving there with his family to become the medical director of the hospital. Many friends from my church have gone on medical missions trips to work with Harvesters and have been blessed by the ministry. They've shared some amazing stories of saving and changing lives and I would love to help continue that effort in any way. Some of those who have volunteered in Sudan will be collecting the donations at Vessel and can tell you all about their experience.

And we'll be having DFAC at one of my favorite venues in the city, Vessel!

As always, we'll be collecting donations at the door starting at a $5 minimum, but please donate generously as every dollar from the door collections go to directly to helping to build this much needed hospital in Sudan! Vessel is also donating a portion of the bar proceeds to the charity as well, so drink up. And please invite all your friends so we can make this the biggest DFAC to date! See you all then!
