PLEASE NOTE THE DATE - This months COMEDY Slam has been changed from the 2nd Thursday to the 4th Thursday to accommodate Poetry Slam Semis & Finals. Speaking of changes we'll have the ever funny F.L.O. hosting the Slam this month.
Our feature before the Slam is Baltimore-based spoken-word meets hip-hop soul group The 5th L. This duo is comprised of David Ross/Native Son and Femi Lawal/The Dri Fish. They are an action packed poetry experience that delivers spoken word with the skilled theatrics of a Broadway show and the high energy a rap artist exerts on stage and yet able to maintain the poetic integrity of Langston Hughes to entertain and enlighten audiences.
In the COMEDY Slam we'll have Chris Riggins, host of Be Funny (Tuesdays at The New Parish), the experience that is Queenie TT (author of "Praise Be to the Plus-Sized Sister"), the laugh-rageous Joseph Anolin, the hilarious Jesse Elias and Defending Champ LilyBeth Helson.
As always, we'll start the show with the patented WIDE-Open-Mic hosted by Dre, where we welcome Comics, Poets, Singers, MCs, musicians and YOU to the mic to show what you've got.
Don't miss it - it's a laugh out loud good time!
