A letter from Paly Humanities teacher, Ms. Filppu:
Hello Former Humanities Students!
Do you ever ask "Why" about the college rat race? Do you question who, exactly, owns your education, whether you're already in a college or struggling to get into or select one?
For our second annual Philosophy Talk Radio Show (the nationally acclaimed radio show out of Stanford) we will "Deconstruct the College Rat Race" with a feisty Socrates spirit.
Held on Friday evening May 20th at 7 p.m. in Haymarket theater, the event will be held in collaboration with Gunn's English department. There will be food and music afterwards to help you party like the Greeks:) and celebrate the end of AP and Star testing.
This is a special event for Paly and Gunn teens only; parents are not invited.
The hosts of Stanford will record the event and play it for a national audience and they are also extending the evening and taping more coverage just for us...to put on our website, etc.
We and Gunn are hoping for a big audience as you give voice to a subject which touches all of us.
Please spread the word and attend!
This is your chance to speak up.
