You are invited to a reading and a signing of AWWA’s visionary new book -

The Future of Water Book Event
May 5th at the Denver Press Club

Come join authors Steve Maxwell and Scott Yates for AWWA’s first-ever launch party and book-signing event. Maxwell and Yates will discuss their visionary new book, The Future of Water, May 5th, from 6 to 8 pm, at the Denver Press Club, 1330 Glenarm Place, Denver.

AWWA Executive Director David LaFrance will introduce the authors. The casual format will feature a moderator, and each author will speak briefly about the book and how it was developed. The authors will then sign copies for those in attendance. An AWWA Association Services Representative will be on-hand to process purchases.

Complimentary non-alcoholic refreshments and light hors d’oeuvres in recognition of Cinco de Mayo will be provided. A cash bar will also be available, and guests are welcome to stay for dinner at the Press Club.

About the Book:

Water is vital to human life and the availability and cost of water in the future is, and will be, a topic of great interest to water professionals and concerned consumers--anyone who cares about water. Author Steve Maxwell takes an educated look at how water will be used in and around our homes, in agriculture and in industry, and how the very real impact of not having enough water to go around will affect future water sources, how water is stored, how utilities will operate, perhaps even where people will live. An insider’s view into the business side of water, Maxwell’s specialty, sheds light for investors and others on the future cost and value of this precious resource, in the US and throughout the world.

About the Authors
Steve Maxwell has provided strategic consulting and investment services to the water industry for 20 years and has managed dozens of mergers and acquisitions in the industry. He is the author of the annual Water Market Review as well as hundreds of articles on water resource and business issues. He holds advanced degrees in public policy and geology from Harvard University and is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Earlham College. He lives in Boulder, Colorado.

Scott Yates is a writer, consultant, and entrepreneur. After graduating with a journalism degree from New York University, he started his writing career at SPY Magazine in New York City. He went on to work at newspapers and magazines in New York, Connecticut, and Colorado, winning numerous regional and national awards. He lives in Denver with his wife, son, and dictionary collection.
