Sax innovator Max Wild features stunning singer-songwriter extraordinaire Selloane from South Africa (currently staring in ‘The Lion King’ on Broadway). In a unique collaboration Max Wild and Selloane will take their audience on an exhilarating musical journey through southern Africa, performing passionately moving songs from their respective albums, ‘Tamba’ and ‘Lerato’.
After setting Drom’s dancefloor ablaze in February, together with the phenomenal vocal and mbira talents of Zimbabwe’s Chiwoniso, before an ecstatic audience and sold out show, Max Wild brings a new collaboration to Drom, this time featuring the remarkable vocalist that also stars in ‘The Lion King’ on Broadway, Selloane from South Africa. Selloane was born in Welkom, South Africa, a small town outside of Johannesburg and started singing in church at the age of three. As a teenager she earned her first recording contract with Gallo Music in South Africa, and soon after was discovered internationally, being invited to perform for the Lion King Disney\'92s at the historic Pantages Theater in Los Angeles. After successfully being featured in ‘The Lion King’ in London, Toronto, and the US Tour, Selloane was invited to join the cast on Broadway, where her soulful voice and breathtaking stage performance is now featured.
Selloane sings deeply moving songs that retell the hardships and beauty of her home country South Africa. Raised in Zimbabwe, Max Wild shares his own experiences as a child raised in Africa, and together with Selloance takes audiences on an exhilarating musical journey through southern Africa, performing songs from their respective albums, ‘Tamba’ and ‘Lerato’.
