On April 8th of this year, Christina Ramos (my beautiful wife) was involved in an awful accident on the Pacific Coast of Nicaragua that required immediate medical attention. Suffice to say, the medical facilities one can find in a third world country can oftentimes prove difficult to find, never mind one that can provide sufficient attention to trauma patients. Well, what Christina found was just barely that: "sufficient." What she has walked away with from this experience is a wish to raise a few bucks to help the local facility that helped her. Had The Roberto Clemente Health Clinic NOT been within 20 minutes of where she was vacationing, there is a good chance the end-result may have differed drastically. One month later, Christina is recovering and would love to see you all there to help us send a few dollars down to a valuable Central American arganization.
OUR GOAL = $4,000! What can you do?
Come to Tonic while your Guest Bartenders, Christina and Peter, serve you tasty happy hour libations at TONIC. Christina will be sharing her story, and why this is such an important event to her, us, and all those that were involved.
ALL TIP PROCEEDS will go to The Roberto Clemente Health Clinic. EVERY DOLLAR you tip is actually worth $2.
We have secured one anonymous donor to match all tip proceeds, and will be looking for at least one more, so every dollar you tip the bartenders, it's worth at least $2 to the health clinic ... and we all know how much further "the dollar" goes in a third world country!

MORE INFO: The Roberto Clemente Health Clinic serves more than merely the ailing vacationers. In fact, it supplies free and low-cost medical care to the isolated villages of Limon and 27 surrounding communities in southwest Nicaragua.
The Clinic is named for Roberto Clemente, who played baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1955 to 1972, when he died trying to help the victims of the devastating Nicaragua earthquake. The Roberto Clemente Clinic strives to educate the community on better health, as well as prevent diseases, treat viruses, and injuries and the chronic health problems endemic to this part of the world, where running water and flushing toilets are still quite rare. The Clinic also treats emergency and life threatening cases where their teams can stabilize a patient while in transported to the main hospital in Rivas, Nicaragua.
