This is a storytelling event. Guests, friends, friends of friends, lovers and
people you barely know are invited. All you need to bring is a story and/or an ear to listen.

P.S. Expect the wine bar to be a bit LOUD and more lively at that time. The storytellers really appreciate your full attention. Plus, it's just a unique experience you won't find anywhere else in Minneapolis. Give 'em your ear.
The crowds never know quite what to expect, but they all seem to really love it. Along with Chef Chad's fabulous food!
Here's the deal: There's a THEME. I'll get to that later. You put your name in a hat. We draw your name. You tell a TRUE story WITHOUT notes!
You keep the story to 10 minutes or less. You have a great time and enjoy some wine or beer or food or all and learn some new things about people and laugh or cry or ponder.
THEME FOR MAY: ODD JOBS.
Have you ever had a weird job? Have you quit a job under circumstances beyond your control? (Like being at a party too hungover to come in?)
Have you kidnapped a cat from the U of M research center and been fired for accidentally blowing up a rat? (THAT'S as story) Do you have an ODD or BAD job story? Um...who doesn't??!
Come and tell your story. It might make your current job seem so much better. Plus, you can totally stick it to the man...and they'll never know!
Jobs are hard to come by and hard to live with. Just like boyfriends/girlfriends.
Your hosts: Me (Lulu) and Molly Barnes and Samantha Loesch (The King's Queens)
Oh, and you can come just to enjoy!
Look below for a link to the original Moth Radio Hour.
I did this in my "underground" condo. And it was....awesome!
And now I've done this at Kings Wine Bar. And it was....AWESOMER!
And now we're on our third time. And it just keeps getting better and more special. Thanks to those that participate. You're all, if I may say,the AWESOMEST. (This is still true!)
This will be Story Hour #8. I could not be happier. We have done something really cool. Please come and check it out.
**** If you have memories of your story hour experiences, please post them!****
Now,here's a little background:
The Moth was founded in NYC in 1997 by a poet/novelist named George Dawes Green. He used to sit on his friend's porch in Georgia and other writer friends would gather and tell stories. He missed that when he moved to NY so he started doing it in his NY apartment. It grew. It spread.
Everyone wanted in on it and soon it was at different venues about the
city and became so popular that, well, a lot of famous people show up
just hoping to get their name picked out of a hat. I highly recommend
you visit the website for fun and for a feel of the coolness that
is...the MOTH.

And....their facebook page.

P.S. I WROTE this narrative, because I love and loved the idea of storytelling so much. The Moth inspired a lot of people and a lot of other things and it certainly inspired me. I hope it inspires you.
