**GUESTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO WEAR PURPLE, THE LGBT RAINBOW COLOR FOR "SPIRIT", IN SUPPORT OF LGBT TEENS AND THOSE WHO SUFFER UNDER THE OPPRESSION OF HATRED WORLDWIDE.**
Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia target all people who don’t conform to majority sexual and gender roles. The International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia aims to promote respect for LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Intersex) persons worldwide by coordinating international events annually on May 17th.
This is the first year that Dallas will participate in this worldwide solidarity event, and we will commemorate the day with a candlelight march in downtown at the Kennedy Memorial.The march will conclude with speakers and an "open- mic" where guest are invited to share messages about homophobia, biphobia and transphobia- we welcome song and poetry as well!

Maeve A. O'Connor, Resource Center Dallas, Board of Directors. Maeve is actively involved in Dallas as an LGBT Civil Rights Activist, Leader and Educator with a focus on Transgender medical, employment, and social issues.
Elizabeth Jayne Webb, Local organizer with Walk For Choice, recently organized Dallas' first "Slut Walk" to call for an end to victim blaming in cases of rape and violence.
Jesse Garcia, Local LGBT rights activist and President of LULAC 4871 Rainbow Chapter which seeks to build bridges between the Hispanic and LGBT communities.
Davlin Kerekes, local activist and member of the International Socialist Organization Dallas Branch.
Morgan O'Donnell, President, DFW BI NET, local group for Bi, Bi-curious or Bi-friendly people.
Dr. Stephen Sprinkle, Author of Unfinished Lives, Associate Professor at Brite Divinity School and Theologian in Residence at Cathedral of Hope.
