10 MIN PLAYS
THE SKELETON WOMAN -- An Inuit Folktale, adapted for the stage by Clara Gabrielle Houser. A tale told by the collaboration of Visual Artistry, Mask Work, Live Music, with a character expressed entirely in shadows, and an Ensemble of villagers using Viewpoints, and physical acting.
:: "This is a story about love. It's romantic. It's a fairytale. But its not the romantic fairytale you might be used to, or have come to expect . . . "
LEADING THE BLIND -- Written by Caleb Strul; Directed by Graham Beckel and Jeff Cohen. "It's 'Waiting for Godot' on Peyote." In this Beckett-esque world, a boy helps an old blind man across a deserted terrain. As they ponder a few truths, a more insidious reality comes to light.
ENIGMATIC DANCE
Amphibian-- Directed by Jameelah Nuriddin; Creators: Amani Starnes, Angelina Prendergast, Jameelah Nuriddin. A Movement piece combining the disciplines of Suzuki, Viewpoints, and Butoh to ethereal melodies--exploring birth and life.
ELECTRO -- Choreographer Angelina Prendergast studied ballet at The Royal Academy before returning to the states to create a more innovative form of dance-- a fusion of trained styles and disciplines. Electro explores the concepts of modern slavery, set against the backdrop of a sexy and dangerous world of burlesque. This stunning amalgamation leaves viewers with something more than a paradox.
FILMS
"In Closing", Written and Directed by Evan McNary; vividly tells the story of a guy, POV the camera, being broken up with by multiple women. Stylishly cut, and hilariously revealed this ten minute short captures the essence and subtle ludicrousness of an awkward breakup. Filmed at the Cooperative's artistic home February 2011, In Closing utilizes many of the unique locations in the building and features cooperative members. For more on Evan Click Here:
