Supposedly, the biblical rapture is going to happen this Saturday afternoon. However, since we're degenerate poets, I'm sure we'll all still be here looking for somewhere to get our poetry fix come Saturday evening! Sounds like a perfect time for Saturday Night With The Poet's Haven!
We're at Angel Falls in Akron this month, and we'll be joined by featured poet Maxwell Shell (who is part of 2011's Dragon Inc. National Poetry Slam team)! Lisa Vicious was also scheduled to feature, but a chain of "real-world" events has made it so that she will not be able to make the trip to Ohio. We may be able to get Lisa to do a live remote performance, but that is up in the air at this point. We will also be joined by other members of the Dragon Inc. slam team.
After the features, there is an open-mic. The open-mic is recorded for the Saturday Night With The Poet's Haven podcast. Poets and musicians wishing to perform at the open-mic can sign-up at 6:30. The features will begin at 7:00. ALL TIMES LISTED ARE REAL-TIME, NOT "POETRY STANDARD TIME." In other words, GET HERE BEFORE 7:00!!!
This is an ALL-AGES/UNMODERATED event, meaning kids are welcome to attend and participate, but parents should be aware that there are no restrictions on language. Some performances may (and most likely will) include coarse language.
The Saturday Night With The Poet's Haven podcast is an edited audio anthology, featuring poetry and music from the live events. To download episodes of the podcast, visit:

Also, I hear that if this rapture thing does happen, afterward, the dead will walk upon the earth. For that reason, this show comes with one additional disclaimer: Caution, beware of zombies.
