SLUTWALK IS TOMORROW! Here’s some information you SlutWalkers will need to know: SlutWalk Denver is going to be held at the Greek Theater in Civic Center Park (south east corner). The physical address is 100 W 14th Ave Pkwy, Denver, CO 80204.
Nearby parking is mostly metered but only allows for 2 hours. We suggest finding local lots and paying to park there. Some nearby lots can be found at: 1256 Delaware, 1440 Tremont, 1200-1300 Cherokee, and 1200-1300 Bannock.
Due to the nature of our permit ALCOHOL and MARIJUANA are NOT allowed in the park. If you need to medicate PLEASE make sure to do it before you come to the event. The forecast is going to be 85 degrees and sunny with a chance of storms in the afternoon! Please lather up with sunscreen, but be ready for possible changing weather. Make sure to bring plenty of water. A hydrated slut is a happy slut! We cannot sell anything at our walk, so please come prepared!
Also due to our permit we will not be having an official march but 4 mini marches to take place throughout the event. The schedule for Saturday is as follows:
12:00pm: Event starts, opening speeches
12:35 (at the latest): Mini marches 1 and 2 leave
1:10: Keynote speaker Pamela White
1:45: Mini marches 3 and 4 depart
2:30: Closing speech and ending
3:00pm: Please pick up your trash on your way out
Please make sure to stay on sidewalks and walkways during the marches. We don’t want to have any accidents! We will have volunteers scattered throughout the park and the marches in case any issues arise. Please be safe, be slutty, but most of all have a great time!

Slutwalk started in Toronto when a representative from the Toronto Police told a group of students that "women should avoid dressing like sluts in order to not be victimized." Outraged by this statement 5 Toronto women decided to take action. The purpose of Slutwalk is to end victim blaming and rape culture. The clothing a person is wearing is not an invitation to be sexually assaulted. It doesn't matter what someone is wearing, where they are walking, or how much they've had to drink - the only person at fault is the assaulter. We are reclaiming the word "slut" in solidarity with people who have been blamed unfairly for being assaulted.
We are asking you to join us for SlutWalk, to make a unified statement about sexual assault and victims’ rights and to demand respect for all. You needn't claim the word slut for yourself; whether a fellow slut or simply an ally, you don’t have to wear your sexual proclivities on your sleeve, we just ask that you come. Any gender-identification, any age. Singles, couples, parents, sisters, brothers, children, friends. Come walk or roll or strut or holler or stomp with us.
Join us in our mission to spread the word that those those who experience sexual assault are not the ones at fault, without exception.
We want to make it very clear that this is not a gender specific event! Men, Women, Trans-Men, Trans-Women, Gender fluid, Genderqueer, and people of any gender identity are welcome & encouraged to participate. After all, women are not the only people who are affected by victim-blaming, slut-shaming, & sexual violence! You do not have to consider yourself a slut to attend, allies & supporters are just as important!
