Friends and Family,
10 years have passed since I initially called for the gathering to celebrate the longest and greatest day of the year. So it is my pleasure and honor to do so once again. Let it be known to friends, new and old and to the friends of friends, that on June 18th 2011, we will shall hold the grandest of festivals for the coming of the solstice!
To sustain us, I shall prepare feasts throughout the day and night. Let ogh-so-slow smoked meat strain your plate. Let us stand in awe at as floods of mussels and prawns flow from the Wok of Fortune. Let us retrieve a suckling hog from the ground that has been roasted like none ever before it. And for those who have maintained their stamina, Late Night Chase Street Tacos will ensure all are satisfied.
Games of skill and chance will be played. Tales of the year will be shared. Music will sing. Day will turn to night. Fires will be lit. Most will have the chance to reunite in the friendship of fun, for you will gathered with the common bond of some adventure with I. Bring those who yet to experience this day of food and fun. And as the years have passed, we have brought many new children under the sun. It is only proper that they too enjoy this day under the shade of my peach tree and garden, for they are never too young to be introduced to great company.
For the elders of the crowd, Fine Brews from Great Divide - shall flow. The Mojitos - shall sparkle. The Sangria - shall pour red. The Scotch - shall be neat. And Cigars - slowly enjoyed.
So come one, come all. Commit to the day or stop by for a moment early on or late in the night. If you must, bring what you see fit – a few cold ones or unique side item, but you company is enjoyed most. Let this 10th Annual Summer Solstice be one of many great milestones in its legendary history!
