eatART cordially invites you to the 3rd annual eatART: Power the VAG on Saturday July 16th from 10am to 6pm.

The Annual Energy Awareness Art Party takes place in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery and includes a pedal powered sound system and an unforgettable outdoor dance party!

The event will showcase our giant zero emissions kinetic sculptures:
Daisy the solar-powered tricycle, Gramorail, the Mondo Spider, Prosthesis, and Titanoboa

Pedal power will be generated by 8 teams of “watt-riders” who will power the eight-hour event by pedalling with their back wheels resting on a spinning mini generator that is connected to the sound system. The riders will collect “energy pledges” that coincide with the amount of “watts raised,” with all proceeds going to the eatART Foundation. In tandem with this pedal-powered energy source, an array of solar panels will be powering the tents and info booth.

Resorts frontman Edo Van Breemen seeks to balance performance with electronic production by creating a live experience that is never the same, and involves a cast of rotating guests including Jack Justson, from No Gold and Sam Davidson on EWI. The unpredictable result is as fragile and menacing as a baby stallion imagining itself being delivered into battle by a great mongolian leader.
