Attorneys Serving the Community's (ASC) mission is to bring together women lawyers to combine their resources and talents to support local nonprofit organizations whose programs benefit women, children, and families. Each of the last 25 years, ASC has selected a beneficiary to receive the proceeds of its fundraising events, which culminate in the annual benefit luncheon. As part of its anniversary, ASC welcomes all past beneficiaries to attend the 2011 luncheon. You can learn more about ASC by going to

This years' chosen beneficiary is AVANCE-Dallas. AVANCE-Dallas (pronounced "Ah-VON-say") provides early childhood education and support to at-risk, economically impoverished Hispanic families, and this year marks the organization’s 15th anniversary of advancing children. AVANCE-Dallas is a community-based, non-profit organization that works to prepare children for life-long success by educating parents to be their child's first teacher and committed educational supporter. Last year, AVANCE served 864 children and 775 parents in its Parent-Child Education Program where parents learn how to transform their homes into lifelong learning laboratories by regularly reading with their children and verbally engaging them every day.
