9th Wonder:
Patrick Douthit better known as 9th Wonder is a Grammy Award winning producer and professor from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. His brand of soulful influenced production has led him to provide backdrops for artists like Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil' Wayne, Erykah Badu, Drake, Destiny's Child, Ludacris and more. Beginning his career as one-third of North Carolina hip-hop group Little Brother, 9th Wonder quickly became one of the most sought after producers in the genres of hip-hop and r&b.
In addition to traveling around the world and being a world renowned beatsmith, in 2007 9th Wonder went from producer to professor along with Christopher "Kid" Martin from Kid N Play, was appointed Artist-In-Residence by the Chancellor of North Carolina Central University, and began instructing a hip-hop history class in NCCU's Music Dept.
9th continues to be an advocate of intelligent hip-hop music and
educating both the fans and critics about the culture and
responsibilities being involved in the genre.

We will have a hip-hop inspired art direction by collecting old
records from donors and we will have actual vinyl as backdrops for the artists. Sanford Greene (www.sanfordgreene.com) is a comic book illustrator working for DC and Marvel comics with a reputation of strong hip-hop sensibilities.
Local outfit Izms of Art have a vibrant hip-hop/graffiti influence
approach to their work that has graced the pages of 'The State'
newspaper and being one of the most popular artists in the Columbia
area.
PIENSA: Art Company (www.piensaartcompany.com) will also partake in bringing their visual stylings to vinyl. With influences from comics to urban pop art to classical painters, DRE and Sammy always bring top quality to any of their creations.
Ian Brown is an illustrator based out of Columbia, SC. His illustrations and creations always reflect a wicked sense of humor paired with socio-political commentary with urban pop art undertones.
Film:
Hip-Hop: Beyond Beats and Rhymes (this is from Wiki) is a 2006
documentary film written, produced, and directed by Byron Hurt. The documentary explores the issues of masculinity, violence, homophobia and sexism in hip hop music and culture, through interviews with artists, academics and fans. Hurt's activism in gender issues and his love of hip-hop caused him to feel what he described as a sense of hypocrisy, and began working on the film.[1][2] The premiere of the film took place at the Sundance Film Festival, being welcomed by a standing ovation.[3] It has also won Best Documentary at the San Francisco Black Film Festival and the Audience Award at the Roxbury Film Festival. On February 20, 2007 the film aired on the PBS Emmy-winning documentary series, Independent Lens.

Preach Jacobs & Dose as Analog: Preach Jacobs (www.preachjacobs.com) is a local hip-hop artist and is teaming up with North Carolina based produced Dose to form the group 'Analog'. Dose has released a new project called 'The Greatest Never' on local label Sounds Familiar Records (www.soundsfamiliarrecords.com) with critical acclaim domestically and abroad.
Likwuid is a Columbia, SC based female rapper (who currently resides in New York) that has shared the stage with artists like MC Lyte, Rah Digga and Slick Rick and has been coined one of the top female emcees in the world. Her brand of honesty and strong lyricism has gotten her press in some of the most highly regarded publications.
Open Mike Night (OMN) is a lyricist from Columbia, SC that got his
start by being one-fifth of local hip-hop powerhouse The Elements opening for acts like Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco and writing a song for the family of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. His brand of conscious lyricism and spirituality has gotten him a reputation as one of the best emcees in the Metro. He is also one of founders of the '5 Dollar Bill' concert campaign in Columbia coupling hip-hop and soul music for the metro area.
