SHADE - a day party presents GET LUCKY!
Set times are below but we're updating this event page with THE RULEZ of Shade Parties: if you are coming, please read this!
1) Please NO ALCOHOL ON THE BEACH. The police will come smell your cup and issue $175 tickets without warning. The more tickets are handed out the more we are a “nuisance” and the less likely it is that we will be allowed to come back to the beach due to permit violations.
a. Advice: leave it in your car, put it in a friend’s car who’s closeby.
b. Request: DO NOT bring/use red/blue/yellow plastic cups! These are dead giveaways that people may be drinking alcohol and will attract more police attention.
c. Request: if someone is blatantly drinking alcohol on the beach, please tell themto put it away. If you don’t want to confront them yourself, please find one of the Shadies (Danielle, Erik Nelson, Porter)
2) Arrive EARLY! We expect it to be a warm, beautiful day on Saturday (86 degrees!) and we anticipate traffic and parking issues.
a. Advice: leave your house at 11 a.m. if you are coming from Hollywood or the valley! Arrive early and parking will be a non-issue and closeby. Pack a lunch, enjoy the entire day.We'll be there at noon setting up so come hang with us!
b. If you choose to come later, you WILL encounter traffic up PCH. We recommend all routes to Kanan Canyon off the 101, though there will be traffic as you approach PCH as well. At that point, the parking lot may be closed and you will need to park on the road.
c. Request: At this point, do not come up to us and say “You guys need a shuttle” because Danielle will ROLL SOME HEADZ and I will likely respond with “F**k you, you go drive a shuttle.”
3) Don’t’s:
a. No Fire
b. No Dogs
c. No shade structures larger than 10 x 10 (per our permit rules)
d. Did we mention no booze?
e. No grills
4) Food:
a. There is a snack shack north of our beach for on-site food. We recommend hitting the grocery store (there’s one on PCH just south of Zuma) on your way. Bring lots of water
I think that covers it. I hate being the party Nazi, but in order for everyone to continue to enjoy our events we all have to work together to make sure that jackass doesn’t ruin everything for us.

Please take note on a few things: A) CARPOOL! If the weather is warm, parking will be a bitch and traffic will suck! So leave early and arrive early! B) NO BOOZE! Please leave the booze in your car. The police will ticket without warning if you bring alcohol on the beach AND we will be shut down early! No booze, NO PLASTIC CUPS! C) No pets, no fire. D) Did we mention carpool? ♥
