Join us at the Google Austin Office for a special Tech Talk geared specifically to Social Media Club Austin Members. This is in addition to our regular June meeting on June 21st which Goggle will be sponsoring (registration will be posted later this week)
Google's newest entry in the social media world, Google Places, is a local search and recommendation engine powered by users and their friends. As 1 in 5 searches are local in nature, making sure your clients are listed, verified, and reaching out via Google Places is critical to any client's social media strategy. At this talk, we'll cover:
Getting a business verified on Google Places
How to encourage positive ratings and reviews
The user experience: why some reviews are more important than others
Using Google Places as a community engagement tool
...as well as walking you through the basic features of the site. We'll also do a quick overview of Google's other recent social media tools including Offers, +1, and Latitude, all followed by a chance for Q&A.
Light refreshments will be served. Parking is available free of charge in the attached garage. Space is limited, so register now if you would like to attend. IFeel free to pass this invitation on to other colleagues that may be interested. If they are not yet members, they can join as a community or professional member on SocialMediaClub.org. We'll see you on the 16th!
