First up is a scorcher - Titus Andronicus! Here's a bit of blurb...
“It’s about a society torn apart, and how its citizens attempt to knit themselves together again,” says Sass. “Titus is one of Shakespeare’s oldest plays, but it is undeniably a play for our time: a sophisticated blend of heart-stopping drama and pitch black humor.”
For those of you new to my Calshakes events, let me explain. All others scroll down for the quick deets and RSVP ASAP as I am a wee bit late getting this out.
Each summer, California Shakespeare Theater (or Calshakes) produces 4 excellent plays. I am a Calshakes Ambassador which translates roughly into your getting discount tickets - yay you!
There is a beautiful picnic area that we gather in before the show. The stage is outdoors, with rolling California hills as it's backdrop. Watching the sun set as the show gets going is beyond breathtaking. The shows themselves are always interestingly imagined and the actors some of the best Shakespeareans I've seen. Not to be missed!
