Best known for its scenic looped course boasting breath taking views of the Bay Bridge, Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, and San Francisco's Skyline, the San Francisco Triathlon features two days of triathlon racing along with a 2 day Sports Fitness Expo! Again this year is a 5K and 10K fun run on the same running course as the triathlon.
The two triathlons offered will be a Sprint Distance and Olympic Distance. The Sprint Distance is a great option for beginner triathletes featuring a calm 0.5K swim surrounding the island, a flat 20K bike course, and a short 5K run. The following day, we will be hosting the Olympic Distance, which includes a 1.5K swim, 40K bike, and a 10K run.
If you’re competing with a group of 10 or more, whether it be a club, company, or group of friends, let us know and we will offer you a team discount. You can also compete in these races as a relay team if you’re interested in doing so.
EXCITING NEWS: USA Triathlon has selected The San Francisco Triathlon at Treasure Island an Elite Race Series as well as a Age Group Southwest Regional Championship race. The 2011 draft-legal race (elites) will give triathlon fans a chance to see athletes who are looking to qualify for the 2012 Games. These races will include U.S. and international competitors, some who have competed in past Olympic Games and others who are beginning to make names for themselves on the international triathlon circuit.
