Entering it’s 12th year, BARNDANCE is the best FUNdraiser of the year. The Gavers Community Cancer Foundation is continually impressed with the support of our volunteers, sponsors and guests. In 2009, there were over 2,300 attendees at BARNDANCE, and we hope to surpass that this year.
BARNDANCE has always been about raising awareness, and encouraging people to be checked for cancer. In that vein, last year we instituted a “4 for 3” pricing plan to encourage people to attend. Due to the great success, “4 for 3” is back.
This year’s BARNDANCE is shaping up to be the best ever!! For the uninitiated, here’s what to expect; for you veterans, enjoy!
The gates open at 5:00, and a BBQ dinner is served from 5:30 to 7:00. During that time The Jenae Cherry Band will perform. Be sure to check out the “Mystery Box” raffle items, and get your boxes, and commemorative pins.
From 7:00 to 8:30, we present our “Never be Defeated” award winners, and have our live auction. This is the heart of the program, and the auctions get pretty lively, so you won’t want to miss it.
About 9:00, You will find the band....ROCK CANDY COMING ON STAGE. Find your place on the dance floor early, it’s gonna get crowded!
Last, but not least, "Hans and the Hormones have the honor of closing BARNDANCE. These guys have been here every year, are local favorites, and we plan to keep having them back until they say no.FOR REAL..
About 12:00am, we’ll shut it down, and as you head to your cars, you’ll already be wondering what the date for 2012 is, and how you can volunteer. That’s what happens at BARNDANCE, once you have experienced it, you’re hooked!
