The major search engines get a live feed from Twitter where millions of links are shared every day. They also get a feed from Facebook where even more links are shared. What about Foursquare, Quora, Plancast, Meetup and the 500 you haven't even heard of?
Those platforms and dozens others have a real impact on where you rank. If you are a mover and shaker on a particular social site, you can drive a lot of traffic with a single mention.
This session will be a mid-level dive into how social media can help (or hurt) your site within the search results. Not a social media 101 class, more of a 301 level class. I'm assuming you know how to tweet and like a brand on Facebook. I may even assume you have already claimed your location within Foursquare.
