JOIN THE EVOLUTION!!!
On July 5, at a time and place TBA, we will come together in several major public locations to perform a simple act of love, service, and celebration of our Interdependence: Smile Mob :)(: For 15 min we will genuinely smile at and connect with everyone walking thru the area -- for a period of 3 breaths with each person. We'll look deeply into their eyes, breathing them into us, infusing ourselves with empathic connection, then beaming back to them a strong, clear note of appreciative joy, celebrating that moment together.
Imagine walking along thru your day and suddenly noticing that everyone is authentically smiling at each other -- and there's someone smiling at you! What will it be like to receive a dozen or so heartfelt smiles from complete strangers? How might it impact people's day, their life? What will it be like for us to share those smiles with all those folks? To create this act of devotional service together? How might this unite us in our common humanity?
What if we were to do these in many different places simultaneously? What might it be like to participate with tens of thousands of people doing this simple act all over the globe together, giving us an experience of our interdependence, deepening and expanding our bonds with each other? Given the virulent nature of flash mobs, it seems likely that this idea could spread swiftly and globally. If 3,000 people will show up to mummify each other in toilet paper in a Manhattan Park (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVuVhcdQs0k), how many people will come together for something with love, purpose and service as it's motive?
We will gather in at least 3 cities -- SF, LA and NY, and possibly many more. If you live outside these locations and are inspired to organize one for your city, email me and we'll set you up. This is just the first one -- if this is successful we'll continue to grow them, with the hope that eventually they'll be held in dozens of countries across the world simultaneously, connecting the planet in a simple devotional act: Weaving the We.
July 4 is Independence Day. July 5 will be Interdependence Day -- a day to celebrate, nurture, and honor our interdependence. This is as an evolution of a flash mob -- one that actively involves and contributes to the spectators of this spectacular phenomenon. If you're not familiar with flash mobs, check this one and the one above out for a primer:

Join this group and you'll be in on this collaborative act of random kindness. Please RSVP for this event, join the Smile Mob group and (VERY IMPORTANT!) share it with all your friends!
LET'S DO THIS!
