This coveted annual event is VERY difficult to get reservations for...

Each year, various location around the Kanto area have spectacular fireworks festivals...my favorite location is Atami, because it has diving, one of the nicest white sand beaches in Izu, and boasts one of the longest and vibrant fireworks displays I've ever seen. Most of the displays are now on weekdays or Sunday nights...only once or twice year are there displays on Friday or Saturday. This is one of those dates...we reserved overnight space way back in January.

Daytrip (diving, BBQ, fireworks, then return home) or overnight available.

Access:
The dive center is only 7 minutes from the station. Atami is a major station and many levels of service and speed are available from Tokyo.

The Diving:
We'll have diving for sure on Saturday. There will be two dives for sure, with a possible second available. There is a divable wreck and some nice soft coral areas. These areas are for advanced divers, since max depths approach 30 meters. There iis another area that would be appropriate for Basic Open Water divers (18 meter max). This is boat diving.

10 or 12 steel tanks available

Dive Pricing:
Two boat dives JPY 15,000
Extra boat dive JPY 5,000

Dive Equipment:
Full set JPY 7,000 per day
Component equipment also available

Food. For Saturday lunch, we order in bentos. For Saturday dinner, we will have a BBQ meal on the dock or beach. The usual meaty meal with manly trimmings.

Overnight stay:
I have a very limited number of spaces reserved for overnight stay at a minshuku near the beach. I believe we have spaces for about 8 or 9 folks available.
