The 2011 International Soul Music Summit and Peachtree Village International Film Festival will be held in Atlanta, GA on August 18th through 21st at The W Hotel (Midtown). The ISMS announced recently that is pleased to offer yet another new and exciting opportunity to get your music heard, The ISMS Indy Music Fest I.
In 2010, The PVIFF joined forces with The ISMS and had combined attendance of 9,814 national and independent artists, industry executives, movie/tv actors and actresses, authors, playwrites, filmmakers, and music and film enthusiast from around the globe.
Terry Bello, founder of the ISMS, realized that the summit participants invest so much time, money and talent for this annual pilgrimage, that it was about time that a return of their investment should go further than the knowledge gained and new found friendships.
It was in the midst of such artistry and soul enriching networking, that he discovered that artists came to the summit and felt inspired in the presence of such positivity to perform and show their their talents. Thus, the idea of having a music festival for the participants, who are mostly independent artists in their own right was born. The Indy Music Fest plans on being the premiere soul music festival for independent artists.
Len Gibson, PVIFF Co-Founder, announced that this year the PVIFF will be celebrating the 20th Anniversary of New Jack City with appearances by Bill Nunn and several actors from the groundbreaking 90’s movie. The ISMS also confirmed Eric Roberson, Kindred and Jaguar Wright this year.
Once the panels are done during the day, the night will come alive with a variety of entertainment from film screenings and live performances on the Soul Stage, the Hip Hop Stage, the Spoken Word Stage and an all DJ set after parties.
Never has there been one event that captures so many facets of the entertainment industry quite like this one. Future, past and present Grammy and Oscar winners all converging in one place for one powerful weekend.
The ISMS-PVIFF promises to have something for everyone. Learn more about these three powerful events as they become The Power of One here: www.soulmusicsummit.net www.pviff.com
