You are cordially invited to attend our open house and fundraiser on July 9th, from 7-11PM. We would like to take this opportunity to reflect upon and celebrate our first year of operations, introduce you to our new space, and entertain you for the night.
Artisan's Asylum is turning one year old, and we're celebrating in style!
This fall, we'll be moving into an amazing 25,000 square foot, temperature-controlled, ground floor warehouse space. We'll be expanding and professionalizing all of our shop spaces, hiring full-time staff, and providing over 15,000 square feet of rental studio space to over 100 artists, artisans, entrepreneurs and small businesses - feel free to read more about our transition here:
http://artisansasylum.com/?p=1272. We hope to become the well-equipped workshop, studio, or garage that every creative type in Somerville, Cambridge and Boston has ever dreamed of... and we'd like to take some time to share our vision with you and introduce you to our new location!
Please join us on July 9th, from 7-11PM at 10 Tyler St, Somerville, MA. A $25 donation at the door to help us move and equip the new space is suggested, but not required. Our schedule for the night includes:
+ A Meet & Greet from 7-8PM, complete with complimentary food and drink and tours of the vision of the new space
+ Presentations at 8PM from Gui Cavalcanti, President of Artisan's Asylum, Inc., and Stephen Houdlette, Economic Development Specialist in Somerville's Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development
+ Performances throughout the night from Esh Aerial Arts, Andrew Insect & Ace and others
+ Music later on by DJ madDELISH
We will have several pieces of installation art on display throughout the space, depictions of our vision of our new layout, gallery presentations of work created either at Artisan's Asylum or by Asylum members, instructors or volunteers, information tables about all of our upcoming programs and opportunities, and complimentary food and drink throughout the night.
Hope to see you there!
