The Singularity Summit 2011 will be a TED-style two-day event at the historic 92nd Street Y in New York City. The purpose of the event is to look at the remarkable developments in fields such as AI, robotics, computational neuroscience, and other cutting-edge technologies that will have a major impact on our immediate future. The Singularity Summit will also explore visionary scenarios of the more distant future, and is the only Singularity-focused conference.
Confirmed speakers include futurist Ray Kurzweil, Jeopardy! champion Ken Jennings, Allen Institute for Brain Science neuroscientist Christof Koch, PayPal founder and early Facebook investor Peter Thiel, MIT cosmologist Max Tegmark, AI researcher Eliezer Yudkowsky, MIT polymath Alexander Wissner-Gross, DARPA challenge winner Riley Crane, Skype founder Jaan Tallinn, economist Tyler Cowen, television personalities Jason Silva and Casey Pieretti, and robotics professors James McLurnkin and Robin Murphy.
