Streetwalker
Streetwalker is collaborative work of research scientist / vintage synthesizer enthusiast Beau Wanzer and his counterpart Elon Katz of futuristic electronic spunk-funk project White Car. Wanzer has released records with Nation, Disco Capablanca and Dead Air Recordings. His project Mutant Beat Dance, a collaboration with Melvin Oliphant III aka Traxx (Nation/Creme) just completed a remix for Gavin Russom's newest 12" on DFA and has a new 12" coming out on Rong Music. Katz has released a number of various projects on vinyl and cassette with the independent labels Rainbow Body Records, Hippos in Tanks, Desire, Catholic Tapes and NNA Tapes . White Car's debut LP "Everyday Grace" is coming in the fall on Hippos in Tanks. Together Wanzer and Katz sync the machine rhythms of the mid-west with the avant-garde attitude of European Industrial electronic music to make the uniquely dirty grind of Streetwalker. Elon and Beau share a deep love of vintage Roland gear, Szechuan cuisine and gory horror films which greatly informs their accosting mix of 808 kick, hot deep-fried basslines, splattering synth gurgles and yelps of zeal. The duo's sole release, an 11 minute cassette single entitled Ooze, is available from the wonderful Catholic Tapes (
www.catholic-tapes.com) and a full length record is coming soon from a very special TBA label…

Black Jeans (SF)
With recording and performance project Black Jeans, Oakland's Russell Butler has been churning out some seriously dramatic goth synthesizer jams. But he also knows how to get sugary while he's way out in space. The first two tracks of his four-song demo are marked by an Ian Curtis-style dark gut-croon, reminiscent of an energized Silk Flowers.(Altered Zones)

Brandon Nickell (SF)
Brandon Nickell (b. 1981 Oakland, California) currently resides and operates the Isounderscore record label in San Francisco’s Mission District where he records and performs uncompromising noise, experimental, and electronic music. Nickell has recorded under the computer-based electronic music and noise Aemae project since 2002 which was characterized by brutal synth-based noise yet highly detailed compositions that exhibit formant-based frequencies as well as other uncommon synthesis-based techniques. Recording and performing under his own name since 2009, Nickell released the critically-acclaimed full-length album “And If You Set This Mind Of Mine Afire Then On My Bloodstream I Yet Will Carry You” in 2010 as well as "The World Is A Refuge From Perfection" in the spring of 2011 on Monorail Trespassing in Los Angeles. Most recently he contributed a remix for Mexico witch house artist Ritualz for his digital-only single "Ghetto Ass Witch" alongside artists such as Unison, Burial Hex, Blissed Out and Funerals. Chicago's Third Sex recently released Nickell's "Synthbanger One" early this summer based around current live work with analog synthesizers and drum machines.
