Instant Runoff Voting & the 2011 Mayor's Race
Implications of this new way of choosing our Chief Executive
Meet us at SPUR's amazing facility to understand the importance of the 2011 election.
As the Mayor's race in San Francisco heats up, we are confronted by the first truly competitive election under Instant Runoff Voting (IRV). This ranked-choice method of picking a Mayor will have major implications on how the campaign season unfolds, and probably on how the next Mayor chooses to govern.
The Harvard Kennedy School Alumni in San Francisco invite you to attend a panel discussion about how IRV will shape this year's Mayor's race.
Panel Participants:
Supervisor Scott Wiener, District 8, won his seat under IRV last year
David Latterman, political analyst and expert electoral number-cruncher
Alex Clemens, seasoned political consultant and policy wonk
Details:
Thursday, July 21
Reception, 6:30pm
Panel, 7:00pm - 8:30pm
SPUR Urban Center, 654 Mission St, San Francisco
