Kuwait has one of the most contemporary and advanced healthcare systems in the GCC region, growing at around 4,5% per annum. Healthcare in Kuwait has been dominated primarily by the public sector. However, the private sector is also currently enjoying a rapid growth leading to an increased demand for different aspects of healthcare oriented services in the country.
The Kuwait Ministry of Health has approved a plan to construct within 5 years 8 new Hospitals and extensions with an allocated budget of 1 billion USD. Moreover, the Ministry of Public Works has a dedicated budget of USD 4,19 billion for additional 9 new hospitals to be established in the country. This initiative by the Government will create an additional 3,334 hospital beds in the public sector and an estimated number of 15,000 medical/professional positions and as well an upsurge of potential opportunities for medical and allied services vendors within 5-10 years down the lane.
Kuwait Medica, which will be at the 3rd time from 12 to 14 April 2012 (expected timing, will be re-confirmed closer to event) at Kuwait International Fairground, Mishref, Kuwait, offers a dedicated platform for global Hospitals, Medical and Dental facilities, Equipment and Technology Suppliers, Pharmaceutical companies and Medical Laboratories, E-Health Providers and Allied Service Vendors to present a complete spectrum of healthcare oriented products, services and processes for use in the medical field and to identify potential business opportunities in Kuwaiti consumer markets.
Kuwait Medica targets global investors, officials, health professionals from all specialised disciplines, health administrators, members of the medical technology trade, pharmaceutical and supply chains, laboratory equipments and disposables, medical tourism operators and facilitators and leading suppliers of allied services.
The Exhibition provides an opportunity for medical players to showcase their resources to become affluent partners with the Government of Kuwait in the on-going development of the healthcare industry and add new dimensions to their services and markets to attract the Kuwaiti consumers.
The Conference aims to provide cutting edge insights to the trends in Hospital Design and Build, introduce latest medical and dental equipment, pharmaceuticals and lab technology products and services in Kuwaiti market and bring together all the specialised contractors and investors involved in the planning, operations and management of all kind of healthcare facilities.
