We all know Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro still love each other. Although Marty’s been seen around town with a little lady called Leo a lot recently, we know that his heart still belongs to his old flame Bobby. What a wonderful time they had together and what a grand time they gave us.

Shot in the blackest of blacks and the whitest of whites and imbued with a sense of impending horror, Raging Bull has been happily sitting up there undefeated with the greatest of the greats since 1980. As a boxing movie, no film comes close. As a study of masculinity, it has no peer. Robert De Niro as Jake La Motta is both magnetic and monstrous, a professional boxer with a barn-full of insecurities that tend to manifest themselves in explosions of violence.

As we at the Nomad like to find the perfect spots for our cinematic rambles, we’re loading up the camel and heading eastwards to the legendary York Hall boxing arena. Bring your mouth guard and sparring gloves because we’re challenging you to a fight.
